If a suitable candidate is not found for an Additional Professor post, that post may be filled by a lower cadre (Associate Professor or Assistant Professor) in the same category and discipline. Candidates eligible for the lower cadre may also apply where a higher-cadre post is advertised, in which case selection would be for a tenure of 5–7 years.
The same downgrade provision applies here: if a suitable candidate is not found for an Associate Professor post, it may be filled by an Assistant Professor of the same category and discipline, and candidates eligible only for Assistant Professor may also apply, with selection for a 5–7 year tenure.
